Hawaii Anniversary Trip 2009 - Day 1 Aloha! Welcome to Paradise

So after a few months of anticipation, the day, July 1st finally came, and we were off, on our way to Hawaii. I had been having back problems, suffering from what is likely a ruptured disk in my back, so I had really only had time to think about getting better, but as the day grew closer, I got more excited, as did Brandon. I think alot of the fun in a vacation is looking forward to it, and seeing others so excited.

We left on a 10am flight from XNA and traveled on a short flight to Denver. From Denver, we took a 7 hour flight to Honolulu, HI. We arrived in Honolulu, where we would be staying for 5 nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at around 4:30pm. The first thing that we did after checking into our hotel was to find something to eat! We were both starving, since Hawaii is 5 hours behind CST, and we hadn't really had much to eat, other than breakfast all day! Because of the jet lag, and my back being really tired, we decided to grab something close to our hotel. Now anyone that knows us knows how much we enjoy Red Lobster on occasion. And...there just happened to be one close to our hotel, so we decided to grab dinner there!

After dinner, we stopped by an ABC store (a local convenience store all along the beaches in Honolulu) and grabbed a few bottles of water before going back to our hotel. I was wanting something sweet, imagine that, so we stopped inside of our resort at a local ice cream shop called Lappert's for a late night snack. Well, I guess it wasn't that late; it was only 7:00pm Hawaii time, but for us, we were ready for some sweet dreams and a great day tomorrow! Here are a few pics from our hotel on our first day in Honolulu.
