Well, we decided to come back to our little piece of paradise again this year to celebrate our anniversary and just get away! Our lives have been hectic lately with work, school, etc. , and we both needed a few days of nothing but relaxation!
We once again traveled to the island of Oahu in Hawaii. However, for this trip, we decided to rent a private house, a few miles from the busy Waikiki Beach.
Our house is a beautiful 2 bedroom home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, and our own very large private lanai (patio) with pool. We were a little worried about the fact that the house had no A/C, but with all of the windows, the higher elevation, and the continuous nice breeze, it has been absolutely perfect! The natural breezes coming through the windows are actually better than having A/C.
We started our adventure at 2:30AM Arkansas time on Wednesday (9:30pm Tuesday Hawaii time) and left on a 5:50 flight out of XNA. From there, we went to Atlanta and enjoyed a nice few hour layover. Then it was on to Honolulu, a wonderful 9 1/2 hour flight. It really wasn't bad flying for 9+ hours. The hard part was not being able to move around alot.
Once in Honolulu, we grabbed our rental car, which we had reserved to be a Jeep Wrangler that turned out being a Sebring convertible. Oh man! Tough luck for us :)!
We then headed for our rental house, got settled, went shopping at Whole Foods, which we do not have in NWA, so this was a treat for us, went and grabbed a bite of dinner at Islands (best burgers ever), and finally headed back to our house. By this time, it was about 9:00pm Hawaii time. We had been up for almost 24 hours and were beginning to feel it!
